The old entry on this Bryan home had run its course. Rotting wood steps, a worn-down railing, and a bare patch of dirt where a proper porch should have been - it wasn't just an eyesore, it was a safety issue. Every day you're stepping on something like that, you're one misstep away from a real problem.

We started from scratch. Once the old structure was cleared out, we built a proper pressure-treated wood frame from the ground up - footings set, joists spaced clean and even, everything squared before a single deck board went down. That foundation work is what separates a porch that lasts from one that wobbles and sags within a couple years.

What came together is a wide, flat front porch with a solid skirt board perimeter and a staircase with a properly built railing - capped posts, evenly spaced balusters, the whole thing. It fits the house. The navy blue siding and the fresh natural wood tone work really well together, and the footprint of the new porch gives the entry a presence it just didn't have before.

Beyond the looks, this is now a porch you can actually use without worrying about it. The Steever family can step out their front door onto something solid and dependable. That's really the point of a job like this - it's not just about how it looks from the street, it's about knowing the structure underneath you is built right.

Big thank you to the Steever family for trusting us with their home here in Bryan. These are the kinds of projects we genuinely enjoy - straightforward, honest work that makes a real difference for the people who live there every day.
